Sally Ireland, ARCO's Director of Legal and Compliance, will be joined by Caspar Courage, Managing Director, and Coral Harvey, Senior Consultant at SAY Property, who will share practical insights into how a more disciplined approach to cost can support performance, transparency, and long-term value.
About this forum:
As the UK later living sector continues to evolve, a more rigorous approach to operational cost management is becoming essential. Historically, the sector has operated with a relatively relaxed stance on cost scrutiny, often underpinned by deferred management fees and development-led returns. However, this model is being tested in an increasingly challenging economic environment.
This webinar will explore the growing importance of embedding operational cost benchmarking into core asset management processes. Drawing comparisons with more mature residential sectors such as BTR and student accommodation, we will highlight how systematic cost analysis and transparency can drive performance, improve resident value, and enhance investor confidence.
The session will be particularly relevant for operators managing both fixed and variable service charge models, where understanding cost allocation, efficiency, and competitiveness is critical.
As the market matures and stabilised IRC assets begin to trade more frequently, there will be a heightened need for granular insight into operational cost structures. Investors and operators alike will require a deeper understanding of cost build-up to support underwriting, asset optimisation, and exit strategies.
